Universal Credit is a single payment to help with your living costs, if you are on a low income of out of work.
It will eventually replace six of the existing welfare benefits that will be phased out, including:
- Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Working Tax Credit.
Apart from those mentioned above, Universal Credit does not replace any other benefits.
